Project Green Fleet: Cleaning Up Diesel Fleets Statewide

Environmental Initiative's Project Green Fleet is a partnership driven effort to reduce pollution from diesel vehicles like school buses, heavy-duty trucks, construction equipment and locomotives.

The project has resulted in:

  • 3,000 cleaner, greener school buses serving over 300,000 Minnesota students
  • Over 400 heavy-duty diesel engines with retrofitted or repowered engines that emit less pollution after participation in Project Green Fleet
  • Reductions of around 23.5 tons of particulate matter (PM) annually, the equivalent of removing 350,000 cars from the road each year
  • Exposure and emission reductions of hydrocarbons and other pollutants that contribute to the formation of smog
